Durham Town Hall

Durham, New Hampshire

The Town of Durham was in need of a more functional Town Hall facility with adequate space for staff and multiple public meetings, and their existing facility was not able to provide for this. The Town purchased a vacant bank/office building across the street, which they decided to renovate and expand to meet their functional and space needs. This integration with the public helped garner support throughout the community and helped pushed it through Historic District Commission and Town Council approvals. The designed developed through working with the community through multiple iterations for both floor plans and exterior appearance. The Town put a heavy emphasis on sustainability and developed a highly insulated exterior envelope which helped get in achieving the goal of a LEED Silver certification.

City of Dover - Dover City Hall Customer Service Center

Dover, New Hampshire

The City of Dover wanted to provide a better service experience for the public and make use of the lower level of Town Hall that was being vacated by the Police Department who were moving to a new off-site building. A strong driving force was accessibility for the public. There were multiple design decisions that went to accomplishing a more accessible Town Hall. Customer windows in the Town Clerk/Tax Collector, Water and Sewer, and Parking departments all were designed integrating ADA accessible counters. Another aspect was to connect the lower level to the existing elevator which serviced the upper level but was located a half floor above the lower level. This was remedied with a new corridor designed with a ramp which connected the floor height difference.

Rye Town Hall Facility Needs Assessment

Rye, New Hampshire

The Rye Town Hall was originally constructed as a church in 1839 and became a Town Hall in 1873. An analysis of the historic Town Hall building was completed in order to determine the feasibility of renovation and expansion. Conceptual design plans and elevations were created to show how to solve functional needs while respecting the historic character.

City of Dover Space Needs Analysis

Dover, New Hampshire

The City of Dover's City Hall, Police Department and Library were tight on space and not functioning efficiently. Our analysis reviewed the needs of each building and other City departments to identify possible solutions and determine the feasibility of renovations and expansion.

Londonderry Town Hall

Londonderry, New Hampshire

Designed to create a future courtyard, the new municipal building located Town Offices on two floors in an L-shaped plan. The deep accent paint colors are reminiscent of the Town's historical buildings, and the character of the new Town Hall reflects the desire for a simple, colonial style image, both inside and out.

Somersworth City Hall

Somersworth, New Hampshire

The renovated facility was originally designed as a bank building in the International Style. The new design and layout of the City Hall enhances the functional relationships of all departments, while simultaneously evoking the image of open government.
